Student Services
Student Services
Each student at Instituto has access to an array of supportive services which are crucial to their continued success along an education pathway. Depending on their program, this could include on-site childcare, transportation vouchers, academic tutoring, as well as access to any other primary Instituto programs such as ESL, citizenship services, or financial counseling.
We provide a wide range of support services to ensure our students' success as they continue their education and launch new careers including resume and interview preparation, job readiness training, computer literacy instruction, and more. This approach allows us to provide a comprehensive set of services that meet the varied needs of our students.
Grievance Procedures
Instituto del Progreso Latino (Instituto) is committed to resolve student complaints promptly and fairly and shall not subject a student to punitive action because of written grievances having been filed with the school or the Superintendent.
Steps in the Grievance Procedures
1. A student who has a grievance must first meet with the instructor one-on-one to discuss the issue(s).
2. If the student doesn’t feel their grievance was properly addressed, the student can request a meeting with the program coordinator.
If the student is still not satisfied with the outcomes, they can request a meeting with the Dean of the department. Instituto will maintain a written record of our handling of all student complaints.
ANY STUDENT OR EMPLOYEE WHO BELIEVES HE/SHE HAS BEEN AGGRIEVED BY A VIOLATION OF THIS ACT SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A WRITTEN COMPLAINT WITHIN ONE YEAR OF THE ALLEGED VIOLATION.
ANY COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE SCHOOL MAY BE REGISTERED WITH THE ILLINOIS BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION BY SENDING A LETTER TO THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:
