Com Ed CONSTRUCT Program

Launched in 2013, Com Ed's CONSTRUCT program aims to create pathways to entry-level jobs with a good-paying, livable wage in construction-related fields and remove barriers to careers in the utility and construction industries. Com Ed partners with local nonprofits and workforce development agencies to support increasing employment and generate a diverse pipeline of talent for Com Ed and participating companies. This program supports technical and soft skills development, geared towards careers in the utility sector, with the assistance of its ten training partners and 40+ hiring partner companies in construction and engineering. CONSTRUCT has prepared more than 600 diverse candidates for life changing and sustaining, entry level jobs in construction-related fields and about 70% of training graduates have been offered jobs.

Certifications available to students who enroll in CONSTRUCT include Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), CAST Test Preparation and Certification, Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” CDL Permit, Microsoft Office technology training, and customer service and job readiness training.
