Yesica's work as After School & Family Literacy Manager involves overseeing a team of instructors who offer support to parents taking ESL or citizenship classes at Instituto.

"The founder of a law firm in Chicago is providing $100,000 to an organization on the Lower West Side that helps immigrants in one of the first large-scale monetary donations toward the migrant crisis.

Instituto del Progreso Latino, a decades-old nonprofit organization that provides education, training and employment resources to Latino communities, received the donation from David Fish, founder of the law firm Fish Potter Bolaños, P.C. The funds will support the organization’s Asylum Migrant Outreach Response, called Project AMOR."

We're delighted to share that Casa Celaya USA , in collaboration with DIF Juventino Rosas, recently facilitated the reunion of 11 elderly individuals with their families through a family reunification program at Instituto del Progreso Latino.

IJLA students and team will co design and create a mosaic mural on the south side of our building facing Blue Island. Thanks to Kamelia Hristeva, Founder and CEO of the Green Star Movement and Program Director, Jordan Taggart for this grant and for this beautiful opportunity.
