Admission Process
Applications for the ADN program open in late spring/early summer, and are accepted through the end of September, with a program start date of early January. The BNATP is offered three times a year; each cohort begins classes in the spring, summer and fall semesters (January, June and September).

All applications are reviewed by the Admission Committee, which consists of a panel of College faculty and designated individuals assigned by the Associate Dean of Nursing. The admission process for both programs is competitive, with a limited number of seats per term. The Admission Committee works in collaboration with the Registrar's Office to perform a holistic review of each applicant's credentials. The committee members look at every aspect of applicants’ qualifications, including their ATI - TEAS placement results.

Applicants to both the ADN and BNATP programs are required to submit a non-refundable $50.00 application fee to be considered for admission. Upon submission, applicants will also be required to provide additional supplementary materials, including:
  • Scholarship application (if applicable)
  • Completed medical documents (physical examination and immunization records)
  • Copy of BSL card and health insurance card
  • Copy of State ID or Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate or U.S. Passport, Permanent Residency Card, or Work Authorization Permit (as applicable)
  • Copy of most recent income tax declaration forms (for BNATP only)
College, high school, and TEAS Test transcripts must be emailed separately or sent by mail to the Registrar Office at:
Instituto College
2520 S. Western Avenue
Chicago, IL 60608

Applicants to both the ADN and BNATP programs are required to participate in an information session and interview prior to enrollment, where they must demonstrate understanding and interest in the program, as well as an ability to benefit from the training, becoming employable.

The College Registrar will notify each applicant in writing of the admission decision via email by the end of November. Waitlisted BNATP applicants will be contacted one month prior to the start date of the new term, space permitting, to participate in an admission interview. Accepted applicants for both the ADN and BNATP programs are required to submit a signed Student Enrollment Agreement and payment of the full semester tuition balance 30 days before the start of classes in order to confirm acceptance.
