Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy

Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy (IHSCA) is family (“Somos Familia”), an open door, a place of rigor and academia where students earn a diploma that matters. We do what it takes, we do not quit, we set no limits on our potential to learn and grow. IHSCA is LIMITLESS!

Mission

IHSCA fosters a safe and open culture, high expectations, and collaboration in all classrooms. We ignite excitement in our students about learning and we focus on exposing them to the various opportunities in the Health Sciences field while awakening their social engagement and civic duty. IHSCA students overcome obstacles and achieve success. They graduate and attend college at higher rates, but more importantly, they can think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer the challenges that await them.

Vision

With collaboration from all stakeholders, our vision encompasses holistic community education and partnerships, supportive learning environments, transformational teaching and learning and transformational leadership.

OUR APPROACH

Holistic Community Education and Partnerships: It is IHSCA’s goal to achieve growth at the student level, academic level, and the broader community level. This is achieved through extracurricular activities, community engagement, and programs/internships.

Supportive Learning Environments: IHSCA will create learning environments that support the unique strengths and needs of each individual and will provide a system of support to meet the evolving needs of all students. Continue providing individualized instruction and language acquisition support.

Transformational Teaching and Learning: IHSCA will create consistently right and engaging learning opportunities that set high expectations for all students and foster collaboration, problem solving, reflection, critical thinking and independent learning.

Transformational Leadership: IHSCA will hold all educators and leaders to high expectations in responsibilities, policies, and professional development and will create opportunities that affirm and support effective teaching, learning, and leadership.
